Yes, it is another NFL Playoff weekend – nothing like it! As I currently reside in Brazil all I can do is reflect on those cold January Sunday afternoons snuggling up on the couch and watching the playoffs when I resided in South Carolina. As I write this, I recall some of those magical moments, the Buffalo Bills coming back from a huge deficit and overcoming the Houston Oilers to shock the world. The Pittsburgh – Oakland game where a deflected pass to Franco Harris turned into a touchdown and has made the highlight reel for decades. This year has the UNDEFEATED (16-0) New England Patriots hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are coming off a late finish to win on the road at Pittsburgh. It has been 35 years since a team has finished undefeated being the Miami Dolphins of 1972 – which happens to be the 1st year I ever watched football as an 8 year old kid. But this game in my opinion spells upset. Keep your eye on this game. The other Saturday game has Green Bay hosting Seattle at Lambeau Field….enough said – well – this looks to be Brett’s final year so let him air it out – get it done and get to the FINAL DANCE! On Sunday the 2 games on tap are DA’ BOYS of Dallas hosting the G MEN of New York – look out Dallas – Terrell….in an interview with Deion Sanders of the NFL NETWORK – Deion asks Terrell “should I tell the viewers to make some pop corn?” Terrell Owens replied, “I will say it for you – make some pop corn!” In the other game last years Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis goes up against the Chargers of San Diego. Not sure why, but this game really doesn’t interest me at all. The Colts are obviously good – but boring! San Diego can never and has never WON the BIG GAME. Big E’s Picks for the Divisional Playoffs:New England, Green Bay, Dallas, Indianapolis Enjoy the games and I will catch you back here later for my comments on these games and my thoughts.[This Sports Corner Spot is brought to you by Platinum One Destinations - if its on the map, if they are playing - we will get you there!]
